Must NOT be menstruating if treating abdomen
Avoid taking any medications or supplements that thin your blood, such as aspirin, fish oil or St. Johns Wort. These all have blood thinning properties that can make you more susceptible to bruising. It’s best to stop taking them at least one week before your session. However, before doing that please talk to your family doctor to make sure it’s okay. Your doctor may also suggest alternative medications that you can take during this time.
Avoid tanning your skin in the target area. Tanning can make your skin more sensitive to treatment. To minimize discomfort, it’s best to protect your skin from the sun exposure before your treatment.
Eat healthy before your treatment. A healthy body makes it easier and faster for results to appear, since you’ll be functioning at an optimal level.
You might want to consider stopping smoking for about a week before your session, too. Smoking can impede the healing process, delaying your results.

What is Cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis or Cool Sculpting, commonly known as "fat freezing", is a non-surgical alternative used to reduce specific areas of fat.
Cryolipolysis is a proven method of fat reduction which has been subject to clinical trials and scientific studies and has been proven to kill fat cells in each application of the treated area. The procedure is most often used for permanent reduction of stubborn fat pockets and for general body sculpting.
Where do the fat cells go?
Simply put, your body digests them. Just like any energy source, they are cleared through the lymphatic system.
Will I put the weight back on?
Our bodies contain a finite number of fat cells, and therefore the cells will not reproduce. In other words, when the fat cells leave the body via the lymphatic system, they cannot return. However, an individual’s excessive calorie intake could trigger the remaining fats cells to compensate and increase in size. It is therefore important to maintain a healthy lifestyle following your treatment.
Does Cryolipolysis hurt?
The method is 100% non-invasive; this means no scalpels, needles, anaesthetic or sedation. With no restrictions or limitations imposed and clients are free to resume their routines immediately after treatment.
Are there any side effects?
There are no adverse long-term effects associated with Cryolipolysis. The concept of super fat freezing is to specifically target and destroy fat cells and not cause any other damage. It is proven that our skin and fat are affected at different temperatures; therefore you can freeze the fat but not harm the skin. With that said, individuals may experience a little bruising and numbness, which tends to last several days.
Is Cryolipolysis safe?
Because of its non-invasive nature, Cryolipolysis has considerably low risk. Cryolipolysis is considered safe for most individuals, although there are certain risks associated with any kind of cosmetic procedure. Some side effects may include redness, localised bruising and reduced sensation in the treated area. These are considered normal and usually go away on their own within a few days after treatment.
How often wili I need this procedure?
Cryolipolysis can only be performed once a fortnight on the same targeted area. We cannot guarantee specific results, however, on average each session can result in a 20-30% fat reduction and in most cases only 1 -4 treatments on the same area depending on its size is needed to achieve noticeable results.
Will this work on loose skin and fat?
Unfortunately, Cryolipolysis is not designed to tighten loose or stretched skin. This may require more invasive approaches such as lipectomies or non-invasive cavitation and rf skin tightening treatments.
Is it a cure for Obesity or Cellulite?
Cryolipolysis is not a substitute for invasive body contouring methods and nor is it a treatment for cellulite. Instead, it is used to target troublesome stubborn areas of fat, e.g. abdominal pouches, for a more slim and toned look.
Is there an age limit?
Clients must be 18 yrs or older.
What happens during the treatment?
Once treatment areas have been identitified, the therapist will place a cool gel pad on the areas to help protect the skin. A vacuum is then attached to the area, which draws in the fat and the cooling treatment begins, Depending on size of the treatment area, the cooling temperature will be set from 0 to -12 degrees Celsius, freezing the fat cells. This procedure will last 20-30 minutes per application during which time you are able to listen to music and use your phone or simply relax while the treatment gets to work.
